Can you share how you first got into swimming and what inspired you to pursue it professionally?
I started baby swimming when I was little. Later on, I began swimming once a week at the age of six with the goal of simply learning how to swim, because it is a useful skill to have. Back then, I had no plans of becoming a professional, but once I started competing, I felt in love with the sport — and one thing suddenly led to another.
What has been the most memorable moment of your career so far and why?
Becoming a European Champion last summer was a very special moment for sure. Something I will never forget.

What does swimming represent for you personally? Can you describe the feeling it gives you?
It gives me a feeling of freedom and calm. A good day in the pool, when my body feels fresh and my butterfly technique is in flow, is one of the absolute best feelings for me.
As a professional swimmer, you travel a lot. What are some of your favorite destinations and why?
I love traveling in connection with my sport. Any training outdoors in the sun is fantastic and something I really appreciate. My favorite pool has to be the one in Rome.

How do you balance the demands of travel with maintaining your performance and training routines?
Traveling requires good preparation and recovery. It is all about being able to relax and quickly adapt to new surroundings.
SHOP HELENA'S PICKSWhat’s your best travel/packing hack? Are there any specific packing hacks or tips you’ve picked up from years of traveling for competitions?
Always wear comfortable clothes when you’re traveling.

How have our travel bags and products made your travel experiences more convenient and enjoyable?
All my products are easy to recognize while traveling because the initials make them personal. At the same time, they’re beautiful, stylish, and of high quality. And I just love traveling in style.
What’s next for you in your career and travels? Any exciting plans or goals?
I have a competition in June in Rome, which I’m really looking forward to. The big goal for the season is the World Championships in Singapore, and I’m very excited about it. I’m hoping for some personal bests and spots in the finals— maybe even a medal, if everything goes well.
